I just adore this bag!  It’s bright, its shiny, its like my own personal happy disco ball!

I originally got it for a fun lap top bag.  I’ve been enjoying it so much that lately its turned into my summer purse.  This thing is huge but not heavy and has room for everything!

From the website:

This tote gains attention wherever it goes! It is perfect for yoga, traveling, a lap top, or a trip to the beach. This multi use bag can be worn cross body or over the shoulder. 16″x6″x15″ with a 8.5″ drop. Messenger strap included.

To purchase visit the Deux Lux website or if you’re local (Dallas area) Southern Bliss Boutique.

Capri Sun’s are a staple around our home.  They are great for lunches, sports events, on the go, you name it.

They also freeze really well.  Pop them in the freezer for a couple hours, cut the top of the package straight across and you’ve got a giant popsicle in a handy dandy pouch.  Kids already love them and there is hardly and dripping mess.  With lots of healthy flavors to choose from its a win for everyone.

You can also put frozen capri sun’s in your child’s lunch box to keep the contents cool.  By lunch time it will be defrosted just enough to have a slushy drink!

What do you do with your capri sun’s?

I just love the smell of fresh laundry!  Especially sheets and t shirts.  Ahhh

For an extra special treat I wash my t shirts, linens, and unmentionables in laundry detergent from the Tyler Candle company.  They make the most delicious smelling candles and other scented items.  The laundry detergent and dryer sheets can be found at your local gift shop that carries Tyler Candle company products.

Jamie Oliver has started a food revolution.  If you haven’t had the chance to watch the show and educate yourself on the food situation in our country, you should!   It’s time to get rid of the processed foods at home and in our schools.

This food revolution is about saving America’s health by changing the way you eat. It’s not just a TV show, it’s a movement for you, your family and your community. If you care about your kids and their future take this revolution and make it your own. Educate yourself about food and cooking. Find out what your child is eating at school. Make only a few small changes and magical things will happen. Switching from processed to fresh food will not only make you feel better but it will add years to your life.

Sign the petition to save America’s cooking skills and improve school food.

Going to the grocery store can be a big chore when you have to take little ones.  Make it fun for everyone by playing a fun game!

1. Scavenger Shop
This classic game usually involves kids hunting for items in the house or the neighborhood, but they also can do it in the market. To avoid having to go on a hunt yourself, limit the scavenger game to the aisle or department you’re in, or ask your child to search only the shelves right next to your cart. When you turn the corner into the cereal aisle, challenge your child to find Dad’s favorite brand, then maybe two cereals with pictures of raisins on the box. Each aisle is a new hunting ground.

Questions to ask:
How many sizes of canned tomatoes are there? Can you find five colors of yogurt containers?

Dinner:

Turkey Sloppy Joe on whole grain bun

green apple cole slaw

Sun chips

Game:

From the Farm

One person volunteers to start.  They saying a word related to a farm, like “egg”.  Going around the table, the next person says a word related to the original word.

Example, Egg, Chicken, Wings, Airplane, pilot, and so on.

Go around the table 5 or 6 times then stop.

Ask the questions if the last word is something on a farm or did the words travel far, far away?

Grocery list

1lb ground turkey

1 can sloppy joe or manwhich mix

1 bag cole slaw

2 green apples

raisins

1 bag sun chips

Prepare the slaw according to package directions.  Chop the apples (I would throw them in the Cuisinart) and add to slaw.  Add raisins.

If the slaw didn’t come with a dressing recipie here is a super easy one.

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
